Getting started
Getting started with File-A-Cloud
Create your account, set your PIN, save your recovery code and upload your first file.
- 1Go to fileacloud.com and choose Create account. Enter your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
- 2Set a 6-digit PIN when asked. Your PIN encrypts private files on your own device.
- 3Write down or print the one-time recovery code. It is the only way to reset a forgotten PIN.
- 4Drag files onto My files, or tap Upload. Files are private by default.
- 5Optional: install the app from the Install page so File-A-Cloud opens like a native app and works offline.
Your password opens your account. Your PIN opens your private files. They are separate on purpose: even if someone learns your password, private files stay unreadable without your PIN.
File-A-Cloud cannot see your PIN or recovery code, so nobody at File-A-Cloud can reset them for you. Keep the recovery code somewhere safe and offline.
