Terms of use

Plain words. Last updated 16 October 2026.

1. Your account

You must be 13 or older, or use a Family account managed by a parent or guardian. Keep your password, PIN and recovery code safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.

2. Your files stay yours

You own everything you store. We only process files to store, sync and deliver them to you or people you choose to share with. We never scan, sell or train on your files.

3. Private files

Private files are scrambled on your device. We cannot open them. If you lose both your PIN and your recovery code, nobody — including us — can recover them.

4. Fair use

Do not store or share illegal content, malware, or material that infringes others' rights. Do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules, after notice where the law allows.

5. Sharing

When you share a link, anyone with it can open the file until it expires or you revoke it. You decide who gets links.

6. Plans and storage

Each plan has a storage allowance shown on the Plans page. If you go over, uploads pause until you free space or change plan. Nothing is deleted.

7. The privacy pledge

The $1M privacy pledge is a company promise, paid by File-A-Cloud under its own published terms. It is not regulated insurance.

8. Availability

We aim for constant uptime and publish live health on the Status page. The service is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

9. Leaving

You can export everything and delete your account at any time from your profile. Deleted data is removed from active systems within 30 days.
